Welcome to “The Art of Social Competence” social/life skills program for young people in their 20′s. Our services include social skills therapy groups and individual therapy. We work with “high functioning”, verbal adults in their 20′s who are looking to improve social skills and executive functioning so that they can better engage in college, employment , relationships, and when appropriate, independent living.

The young adult groups are a mixture of support group, conversation/hanging-out practice, direct competence-building instruction, and outings in the community for rehearsal. As always, the model is relationship and practice based, so our groups are not time limited blocks with a pre/set curriculum sequence. Instead, the program is ongoing, all year ’round. The social/life-skills curriculum is taught according to the changing/developing needs of the group. Groups may stay together for a long time, and learn and practice ever sophisticated social rules and nuances. We offer rolling admission and graduation.

The Art of Social Competence is a private-pay practice, but many clients receive out-of-network insurance reimbursement for our services.
