What a blessing to have found your site. I am studying art therapy at a diploma level and am wanting to work with children and their parent conection. When I tried to run a mock workshop for my class of which most are parents, they could not grasp the idea that some of the time could be spent with the children and parents involved toegether even if there support staff available. The attitude seemed to be 'why would the parent want to spend the time with thier child.' I found this both sad and scary, if this is the outlook of people wanting to work in the healing field then is it reflective of society in general. In Australia we have been a little slow to embrace the potenial of therapy in general, this does seem to be changing, so the furture is brighter. Absolutely loved your mission statement it encapsulated my thoughts beautifuly. Thanks Alicia.
