This group provides clinical supervision hours for the ATR and LPC credential. Participants from a range of therapy professions and modalities are welcome in this rich clinical community.
Participants: Participants must possess a graduate degree in a mental health field. Professional therapists across treatment modalities and professions are welcome, including Creative Arts Therapists, Social Workers, Counselors, Family Therapists, and Psychologists. Participants may be pursuing ATR or LPC credentials, though this is not a criteria for participation.
Structure of the Group: Group size is capped at 6 participants. This supervision group meets for two hours every other week on an ongoing basis, with rolling admission and “graduation” (termination). Participants may stay in the group for as long as it remains meaningful. New group members may enroll when space becomes available.
The format of the group will be shaped and maintained by the participants. Options include (but are certainly not limited to): case presentations about individual, group, or family sessions, participants’ responsive mandala/art making, supervisor presentations on relevant topics/skills, and discussion/processing of professional issues, staff relationships, and countertransference to clients.
Supervisor’s Orientation: Mike has over 20 years of clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and theihhr families. He integrates eclectic theories in individual psychotherapy with a family systems approach, and is always open to learning contemporary, cutting edge techniques. He develops case conceptualizations through developmental theory, including Dynamic, Jungian, Psychosocial, Attachment, and Cognitive lenses. Additionally, Mike considers bio-psycho-social, multicultural, neuro-developmental, cognitive-behavioral, and family systems frameworks to holistically understand each child. He possesses additional training in play therapy and social skills therapy. Lastly, Mike engages with his supervisees and clients in a deeply held and authentic person-centered manner.
